A Steal of a Deal: Perfect Rainjacket

H8701_PK5669_d3I am so very excited for spring. I do love boots and coats but I am ready to wear bright colors, sandals, and sunnies. But considering it is a 49 but feels like 40 degree its can not come soon enough. I was passively preening on J.Crew and they had a few cute new items. The Perfect raincoat is my new obsession. It was a great deal at $72.  I ordered the Rich Gold  (see below) and can not wait to pair it with booties in the transition time and chunky heels in the summer. The reviews say it runs big so I ordered a two sizes. Hoping one works and that this becomes a must have for my spring/summer ensembles yet to come. What are you obsessing over?  H8701_YL5461

Not My Mother’s St. John Skirt

img_1457-jpgI love a good classic. But often classics can seem stuffy and fussy for a young professional like myself. So I have learned to buy classic pieces but mix them up in interesting and fun ways. Today’s classic remix is a lovely St. John Skirt.

I scored this walnut colored beauty for $19.75 at a consignment store a few weekends ago. In comparison to the retail price of a St. John Skirt which starts at  $395  (Similar Here) it was a great deal. I paired it with a cute silky black peplum from target the I paid $6.88 (Here). To tie the two items together I put on my trusty satin leopard pumps from J.Crew which I got on a great promotion in the fall for $32 from $278 (Here).

Overall, the look was office appropriate but fun, textural and a little sexy. All in all my outfit was a hit. I tallied up the reatil value and on the low end it would cost about $700.

Considering I paid under $60 for the look I can’t complain.

A Steal of Deal: Marc by Marc Jacobs Mae Leather Embossed Suede Wedge Booties

imgres

This week’s steal of a deal maybe one of the most epic purchases of my life! I was roaming around Nordstrom’s Rack over the MLK holiday weekend. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular. I stumbled upon three pair of black shoes. These Marc by Marc Jacobs stood out as a cut above the rest of the contenders. They are sassy and cute booties. I think they are perfect for work or paired with a flirty dress for the weekend.

They were priced at nearly 88% off the original price of $398 to $79. Which I thought was a pretty great deal for these little hot booties. Much to my pleasant surprise when I took them to the register they rang up at $.01. NO! That isn’t a typo the shoes really cost me a penny. I felt like I was stealing the shoes. The cashier confirmed that sometimes items get marked down so much $.01 deal are around the store. For some reason they won’t let the price tag reflect it but if you take it up the register will reflect the rock bottom price. I will proudly be rocking these botties because they are literally the best deal of my life!

A Steal of a Deal: J.Crew Spaghetti-Strap Dress in Colorful Brushstroke Print

During Labor day weekend I stumbled into J.Crew. I had been eyeing a new leopard dress on the website so I made my way into the store. I always check out the new items but generally only buy from the sale rack because everything there generally goes on sale.

imageOne pattern that caught my eye several weeks prior was the Colorful Brushstroke print. I loved the bright hues and the easy year round fabric. I loved all the pieces but on the sale rack was the midi dress with spaghetti straps and accordion skirt. The price was marked at $99.99 with 40% off. I was pretty excited to get the dress at less than 50%off the original price. I recently wore the dress to work and an CBC event. I paired it with the  J. Crew  Jackie cardigan in coral and gold strappy Jimmy Choo shoes.

Happy Deal Hunting!
